NBC has renewed "Days of Our Lives" until September 2013,
with an option to renew for one more year, depending on ratings.
Days of Our Lives premiered on November 8, 1965, on NBC set in the fictional
town of Salem.
From Wikipedia: It is located in the Northeastern United States, though the
state is never mentioned. It was built and named in 1802, since Salem
celebrated its 200th anniversary in 2002. Originally set in New England, the
vague setting was moved to somewhere in the Midwest in the 1970's. Every
year the real Salem, Illinois, even holds a Salem Days fest, which several
members of the cast attend.
