Jennifer saw Gwen having a fit at the park. Gwen talked about destroying Abby and turned around to see Jennifer standing there. Gwen was about to explain herself, but Jennifer didn’t hear what she said. She was concerned about her fit because she took care of her grandkids. Kayla went home and asked Steve if he threw Tripp out. He tried to explain but Ava walked out of the room. Chad asked Abby if she had an affair with Jake. He let her know how it wouldn’t be the first time she slept with one of his brothers. Abby was shocked that he threw that up in her face. She told him how she had an illness and wouldn’t have hurt him. Jack walked in and wondered what happened. Nicole ran into Tripp and couldn’t believe he didn’t go near his son. Tripp wanted to know if it was okay for Allie to point a gun at him. Kayla demanded an explanation from Steve about Ava being alive. He told her Rolf was why she was alive. Kayla couldn’t believe she allowed Joey to be in prison for four years. Gwen told Jennifer how she was upset about what Jack did and how Abby forgave him. Abby had to excuse herself so Jack asked Chad what happened. Chad told him how he accused Abby of cheating on him. Nicole went back and forth with Tripp about Allie. Kayla choked Ava and Steve tried to stop her. She couldn’t believe he needed to have Ava arrested. He tried to explain, but she was too upset to listen. Ava let her know that she could file attempted murder charges against her.

Jack wanted answers from Chad about what happened with Abby. He told him how he kicked her while she was down. Jack blamed himself for Chad accusing Abby of sleeping with Jake. Gwen implied that Jack could still be sleeping with Kate. Jennifer ended up using the bat herself. Ava tried to convince Kayla to drop the kidnapping charges against her and she would help Joey. She wanted Kayla to think about her offer. Nicole talked to Tripp about Ava. He was surprised that she was the only person who didn’t badmouth his mother. She mentioned how she did bad things too. She couldn’t judge Ava because of her actions. He said that she judged him and she let him know he wouldn’t own up to what he did. Kayla couldn’t believe Steve allowed Ava in their house. He explained how he wanted to watch her. Chad apologized to Abby for what he said to her. She said she would forgive him, but she needed to some space from him. He walked off and Gwen showed up. She wanted to know what happened. Abby told her how Chad accused her of sleeping with Jake. Jack found Jennifer and asked her if she was picking up young men. He wanted to make things better between them. Tripp showed up and found out Kayla knew about Ava. Ava came out and said it’s up to her whether Joey would be able to get out of prison.

Recap written by Michele and Cheryl

Jennifer ended up with a hangover after hanging out with Bonnie. She told Julie about her night with Bonnie. She wanted to get back at Jack for what he did to Kate. She liked how the guy she was with seemed interested in her. Jack was with Justin and hoped Jennifer didn’t do anything with the guy. Bonnie made it sound like something happened with the guys she and Jennifer met. Jack was shocked until Bonnie let him know she was joking with him. Chad showed up at the garage to see Jake so Kate hid from him. Chad noticed the bed and realized he wasn’t alone. Rafe was surprised when Abe asked him to be the commissioner again. Abe mentioned how Hope wasn’t ready to be back on the force when left. Rafe said he tracked Hope down and talked to her. She didn’t just want to be back on the force. Jack lost his appetite and left the pub. Justin couldn’t believe what Bonnie did to Jack. Abby talked to Gwen and let her know how Gabi left town. She was surprised Gabi didn’t pick things up with Jake. She also told her how she didn’t think Gabi was the one who drugged her. Gwen thought she did, but Abby wanted to confront her about it. Gwen thought she would have lied, but Abby would have known. Gwen wondered who would have done it since Abby was so sweet. Chad thought Jake was with Gabi, but he said he wasn’t with her.

Rafe continued to talk to Abe about what happened when he found Hope. He told him how Hope wasn’t interested in a relationship right now because she wanted to focus on finding Ciara. Abe couldn’t believe Rafe wasn’t willing to wait for her. Hope would wait, but he knew she didn’t want to come back to Salem or be with him. Abe thought he should try, but he didn’t think it would change. Chad remembered how Jake was with Gabi before she left town so he wanted to know what happened. He told him how he broke up with Gabi because of Gwen. Gwen thought things were probably weird at the Spectator because of what happened with her parents. Jack arrived while they were talking. Gwen told him how Abby wasn’t to blame for what happened at the party. He let her know how he apologized to her. Jack hugged Abby and Gwen wasn’t happy about it. Chad found it hard to believe that Jake would get back together with Gwen. Rafe agreed to be the commissioner. Abe told him how Ava was alive. Bonnie didn’t understand why she didn’t hear from Justin. He told her why he didn’t call her. She was willing to be with two people, but he didn’t want to share her. She admitted that she didn’t do anything with the guy she met. After Chad left, Jake wondered if Kate thought he believed what he said. She didn’t think he believed him. She wasn’t sure if they should be together anymore. He wanted to know why she cared so much about what Jack thought. Chad thought about finding Abby’s scarf at the garage and how she was with Jake. He asked her if she was sleeping with Jake.

Recap written by Christine

Adam and Chelsea awaited her test results after her fainting episode. Rey let them know that Billy had been arrested. Adam didn’t want to leave town until they knew what was wrong with Chelsea. Adam told Chelsea about his meeting with Victor and Victoria. Chelsea left Chloe a message letting her know she was moving away and that she’d miss her. Chelsea lied and told Adam that the doctor called and said she had a minor condition. Adam believed her and said he’d book the flights tonight. Michael told Rey it’d be tough to prosecute the case of a sympathetic grieving father against a sociopath who’d killed someone as a child. There was a witness who saw Billy at the crime scene. Rey and Michael were keeping the person’s identity secret. Amanda told Jill and Lily about the eyewitness. Lily was sure the person was wrong, since Billy was at work during the shooting, and ChanceComm’s security video would prove it. Jill was sure Billy was innocent, but she worried the trial would go wrong. She asked Lily to help her convince Billy to skip town. Lily knew Billy would never leave his family. Jill hoped Amanda could win the case. Victoria told Lily that Billy and Amanda had an affair. Lily was skeptical when she found out that Victor was the source of this information and that he’d never shown Victoria any proof. Victoria wanted Billy to know she supported him, and she also told Lily that Adam was supposedly leaving town.

Amanda got Billy out on bail. She questioned him, and he confessed that he had left the building the day Chance was shot. He’d gotten a tip that Chelsea was missing, so he followed Adam to the building that later became the crime scene. He saw Chelsea walking away from the building, assumed the tip was wrong, and he left before the shooting occurred. Amanda was frustrated with Billy for lying to her and lying to the police. He said he lied because he didn’t think anyone saw him at the building, and he didn’t think it’d be a good idea to say he’d been there. Faith got teased by her classmates over Adam getting committed. Faith approved of Sharon having Adam locked up. She was dismayed to learn he was already free. Sharon wished Adam had gotten the help he needed, but Faith thought Adam was evil and beyond help. Rey was pleased when Sharon said she was finished worrying about Adam. Sharon and Rey’s instincts told them that Billy was innocent. Jordan asked Faith to lie to Sharon and come hang out with her. Faith said she had to stay on Sharon’s good side after getting into trouble.

Allie told Nicole about what she did to Tripp. Nicole was glad that she didn’t go through with shooting him. She wanted to know who stopped her. Allie told her it was his mother. Philip was surprised to see Chloe. They talked and she let him know that she would be working for Nicole. He told her about Xander and how he was after him. Ava asked Tripp not to tell Steve how she’s alive. He told her how Steve stood by his side and couldn’t keep it from him. Steve walked in the room and saw Ava. He wished she was still dead. Nicole told Allie about Allie. Steve couldn’t believe Ava had the nerve to show up in Salem. She told Steve he should be glad she was back and he knew she meant Joey. Xander read the info that Sarah got from Philip’s computer. He was convinced he could bring Philip down with the info. Chloe wanted to know what happened between Philip and Mimi since he dumped her for her. He started to explain what happened. He said he was afraid to get hurt by her and went with Mimi. He told her how he was gambling with Mimi and things got out of hand. Nicole was going to call the police on Ava, but Allie stopped her. She said the police would find out what she did and she didn’t want to go to jail instead of Tripp. Roman, Abe, and Kayla talked about Steve and Tripp. She wanted Tripp out of her place because she couldn’t look at him.

Ava told Steve that Joey tried to kill her and he said he paid for his crime. Steve wanted to take her out of his place, but Tripp wanted him to be careful with her. Ava wanted to talk about things before they did anything. Nicole called Abe and asked him to come over so she could talk to him. Ava was willing to help get Joey out of prison as long as she didn’t go too. Steve wanted to know how he would be able to get Joey out without the police knowing she was alive. She warned him that she had the resources to retaliate against him. Tripp told Steve he was glad she was back because she saved him from Allie. Nicole told Abe about Ava being back. She didn’t want him to go to the police and he wanted to know why. Allie told him that she would go to jail if he said something. Nicole tried to defend Allie and said she didn’t mean to shoot Tripp, but she said she wanted to shoot him. Ava told Steve how she had the gun Allie used when she tried to shoot Tripp. Steve couldn’t believe she happened to be there when it happened. Ava told him that they could both stand by Tripp’s side. Abe agreed not to say anything for now.

Primetime TV Review: “Selena: The Series”

TV Review!

“Selena:The Series” Review by Eva 12/6/2020

I was interested in watching Selena: The Series because I am a bit of a fan of her music although I will admit I had never heard of her music until my niece brought the movie Selena to my house to watch almost every time I was babysitting her. I began to enjoy her music and knew every line of the movie since I have seen it so many times. The Netflix series shows her road to stardom. The series, in my opinion, does the same thing as the movie showing that Selena and her family struggled and sacrificed to make her a star and that her life was cut tragically short when she was killed by an obsessed fan. I think this series is more for fans of her music to remember her and her music but it doesn’t add anything new that people who saw the movie didn’t know already. If you didn’t see Selena the movie and want to find out more about the singer and her music this is the show for you.

Selena Quintanilla (Christian Serratos) does a good job of playing the Tejana singer who led a sheltered life and whose strict father Abraham Quintanilla (Ricardo Chavira) who was her manager propelled her and her brother AB (Gabriel Chavarria) and sister Suzette (Noemi Gonzalez) to stardom as the band Selena y los Dinos. The show is easy to binge watch, and has good music but I don’t think it will earn Selena any new fans. I almost wish I had not seen Selena the movie because if I had not seen it I would like the series better. I give this series 3 stars and suggest that you watch Selena the movie if you have not seen it yet but if you want to watch this series watch the movie after you have seen the series.

MORE INFORMATION:

The countdown to Netflix’s Selena: The Series has officially begun.

Fans of late Tejano superstar Selena Quintanilla were up bright and early Tuesday morning for a special announcement from Netflix about its upcoming biography.

The early-morning revelation was that the scripted series, which follows the incredible life and tragic death of the Texas-born performer, will premiere on Netflix December 4, 2020. Netflix also released a handful of new photos and a new teaser trailer.

In the new trailer, Selena, who is portrayed by actress Christian Serratos (TV’s The Walking Dead), walks onto a stage to perform her beloved song “Como la Flor” with a crowd cheering her on.

“Do you trust your father?” says Abraham Quintanilla Jr. (San Antonio’s own Ricardo Chavira).

“Yes,” Serratos’ Selena responds.

Selena rose to fame through the 1980s and mid-1990s with hit songs like “Baila Esta Cumbia,” “Como la Flor” and “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom.” Considered the “Queen of Tejano,” she started her crossover to an English-language album when she recorded the pop ballad “Dreaming of You” in early March 1995.

The song would be released posthumously five months later. On March 31, 1995, Selena was murdered at a motel in Corpus Christi by her friend and founder of her fan club. She was only 23 years old.

Along with Serratos and Chavira, the cast of the new series includes actors Gabriel Chavarria (TV’s The Purge) as her brother A.B., Noemi Gonzalez (TV’s East Los High) as her sister Suzette and newcomer Madison Taylor Baez, who plays Selena as a child.

“What I find most enduring about Selena is her ability to defy boundaries,” Serratos wrote on social media earlier this year. “She paved the way for Latinas and inspired so many to continue in the face of adversity. I will be forever grateful for the memories she has given me, and what she’s done for women like me and my daughter.”

Should Rodney Reed Be on Death Row for Stacey Stites’ Murder? ‘20/20’ Reports on the Controversial Case That Resulted in a Stay of Execution Last Year Following a Public Outcry
Two-Hour Program Features Exclusive Interview With Stites’ Mother and Interviews With Stites’ Sisters Who Believe Reed Is Guilty
‘20/20’ Airs on Friday, Dec. 11 (9:01-11:00 p.m. EST), on ABC
Should Rodney Reed be on death row? A new two-hour “20/20” reports on this controversial case that captured national attention last year as celebrities and activists called for a stay of execution, granted just days before Reed’s scheduled execution date. The two-hour program covers Reed’s defense, which has been taken up by The Innocence Project, a group dedicated to exonerating those who it claims have been wrongly convicted. “20/20” reports on Reed as he attempts to clear his name and overturn his conviction for the 1996 Stacey Stites murder, a crime he maintains he did not commit. “20/20” features an exclusive interview with Stites’ mother, Carol Stites, who opens up about memories of being with her daughter, the heartbreak of losing her and her opinion on the case. “20/20” includes interviews with Crystal Dobbs and Debra Oliver, Stites’ sisters who believe Reed is guilty, and Barry Scheck, attorney and co-founder of the Innocence Project, who believes they will prove Reed is innocent. The two-hour program also features correspondent Deborah Roberts’ death row interview with Reed, conducted just weeks before his scheduled execution. Reed told Roberts about his sentence and how he believes it resulted from racism as he, a Black man, was tried by an all-white jury. Roberts also sat down with Lisa Tanner, the assistant attorney general who prosecuted the case and who stands by Reed’s conviction. “20/20” airs on Friday, Dec. 11 (9:01-11:00 p.m. EST) on ABC.
“20/20” is anchored by David Muir and Amy Robach. David Sloan is senior executive producer. Terri Lichstein is senior producer, and Marie Hegwood and Glenn Ruppel are producers of this episode.

ON “60 MINUTES” SUNDAY: AS COLLEGES PULL OUT ALL THE STOPS TO CONTINUE LUCRATIVE TV SPORTS IN THE PANDEMIC, TEAMS LIKE GYMNASTICS, TRACK AND FIELD AND TENNIS MISS THE CUT
Shane Wiskus is an Olympic Hopeful on the U. of Minn gymnastics team. Watch an Excerpt
Lives and Dreams of Athletes in “Secondary Sports” are Being Sacrificed on the Altar of Big Time College Sports
Shane Wiskus is a top-rated gymnast at the University of Minnesota with a real chance of making the U.S. Olympic Team. But the senior worries his talented teammates in classes below him will not get the same chance because the university cut the men’s gymnastics program amid the pandemic. So-called “secondary sports” like his are being sacrificed across the U.S. even while those colleges go to extraordinary lengths to keep big revenue-producing, televised sports like football and basketball on-air during the pandemic. Bill Whitaker takes a look at how the pandemic is affecting thousands of college athletes on the next edition of 60 MINUTES Sunday, Dec. 6 (7:00-8:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
“I think the team that we have right now is arguably one of the most talented teams we’ve ever had. So to see that a lot of these guys are going to have to be done with the sport, it breaks my heart,” says Wiskus of his 17 teammates. “I do not regret coming to the University of Minnesota one bit. But I’m still mad,” he tells Whitaker. “Gymnastics, I believe, is a crucial component in preparing gymnasts for, you know, not only success for their team, but success for the United States on the world and Olympic podiums.
The coronavirus pandemic blew a huge hole in the University of Minnesota’s athletic budget. The school cut salaries and costs, but also addressed the shortfall by terminating its men’s gymnastics, indoor track and field and tennis programs. Elsewhere it’s the same story for more than 1,500 male and female college athletes. At least 30 Division 1 universities have cut almost 100 programs, among them soccer, squash, golf and swimming. Football powerhouse Clemson is in the hunt this season, but its men’s track and field team has been scratched. The Stanford Cardinals football team still competes in the Pac 12. But the university has eliminated 11 other sports.
Wiskus understands how much money – mostly through TV contracts – the University of Minnesota’s football team brings in, and how that helps pay the bills for secondary sports like his. “Don’t get me wrong. I respect the football team…But their hard work is not any more important than our hard work…This is just a very clear, backhanded decision that, you know, it hurts,” says Wiskus.
The university’s football coach took a salary cut to help defray pandemic deficits; he still makes over $4 million a year. Cutting men’s gymnastics, indoor track and field, and tennis will save the university a total of $1.6 million. Mike Burns, the gymnastics coach at Minnesota, doesn’t see how eliminating his budget really helps much. “If it does, I’d like to see those numbers. I know…I’m not the head of the math department, but that doesn’t make sense to me,” he says with a laugh.
Burns says Big Ten college athletic directors are too quick to cut sports without seeking other solutions. He tells Whitaker those athletic directors are using programs like his as poker chips to bet in the bigtime college sports game. “But it’s more than just a poker chip. It’s somebody’s life, you know?”
ON “60 MINUTES” SUNDAY: “I THINK I UNDERESTIMATED THE CHALLENGES,” SAYS CO-FOUNDER OF FIRM INVESTIGATED FOR RACKING UP PPE CONTRACTS WORTH HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS THAT FELL APART
John Thomas in His First Interview Answering Critics about his PPE Company Blue Flame Medical
Republican Strategist and Co-Founder of Blue Flame Medical Addresses Critics for the First Time Saying He Did Nothing Illegal Watch an Excerpt
The co-founder of a company that signed hundreds of millions of dollars-worth of personal protective equipment contracts, but ultimately didn’t deliver to the majority of its clients – including desperate states and law enforcement agencies in the throes of the pandemic – says he didn’t realize how hard it would be. John Thomas, a political strategist for Republican candidates, co-founded Blue Flame Medical with longtime Republican fundraiser Mike Gula less than two weeks after the start of the pandemic. They have faced congressional and criminal investigations over their company’s conduct. Thomas speaks to Lesley Stahl and answers his critics publicly for the first time on the next edition of 60 MINUTES Sunday, Dec. 6 (7:00-8:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
In their first month in business, Thomas and Gula – neither of whom had experience importing medical equipment – received roughly $630 million in contracts to deliver masks, gloves and other medical supplies, including ventilators. They claimed they could get it from contacts in China and advertised themselves as “the largest global network of COVID-19 medical suppliers.” Delays and setbacks soon began. “I think I underestimated the challenges, where the entire world was looking for these same supplies,” Thomas says in hindsight.
“And while I couldn’t disagree more in some of the things people have said about me and my company – I can assure you this, first and foremost, Lesley: That my company and I have behaved 100% legally and ethically,” says Thomas. Asked if he was exaggerating his company’s abilities, he replies, “I don’t think we did anything differently than anyone, any company selling product and their ability to sell product. I don’t think we did anything differently.”
60 MINUTES used Freedom of Information requests to obtain emails from states seeking to buy PPE from Blue Flame Medical containing endorsements for the new company. Stahl asks Thomas about them. “Your network of political contacts actually did kick in for you, wrote letters, made phone calls, on your behalf. That’s what I call connections. What do you call it?” Thomas replies, “I’d call it happy customer references.”
Blue Flame now has many unhappy customer references, among them Jim Mangia, CEO of St. John’s, a network of health clinics serving South Los Angeles neighborhoods. He placed an order for nearly $180,000 worth of PPE from Blue Flame, “And then they come back and they say, ‘Oh, there’s a kink in the supply chain. It’ll be a few more days…’And then at the end of April, they basically said, ‘We’re not going be able to deliver,’” Mangia says he was told. “‘The only thing we can deliver is gloves.’”
Thomas blames many of Blue Flame’s issues on China, which he says was trying to punish America for its tariff policies in the midst of a Trade War. “One of our delays was when China literally stole our inventory off the line for one of our state customers,” says Thomas. “What China was doing, instead of issuing an order saying, ‘We’re not going to allow America to have medical supplies,’ they would arbitrarily change the rules almost on a daily basis…They wanted America to hurt.”
Stahl reminds Thomas that many of his customers were left high and dry. His reply? “The ones that wanted to be patient got their product. The ones that didn’t want to be patient got a refund. There’s nothing more I can do than that.”

  • CBS 48 HOURS – Saturday, December 12 Show More
12/12/20 (Sa.) 10:00 PM – THE LONG ISLAND SERIAL KILLER MURDERED HER MOTHER – NOW, SHE BREAKS HER SILENCE FOR THE FIRST TIME ON TELEVISION IN “48 HOURS: THE HUNT FOR THE LONG ISLAND SERIAL KILLER”
Megan Waterman was one of the first victims of the Long Island serial killer found by police. In December of 2010, four women – aged 22 to 27, similar in height, weight, hair and eye color – were found dead along a stretch of Ocean Parkway near Gilgo Beach on Long Island, N.Y. They became known as the “Gilgo Four.” Now, a decade after Megan Waterman’s body was found, her teenage daughter talks for the first time on television with 48 HOURS correspondent Erin Moriarty in “The Hunt for the Long Island Serial Killer,” to be broadcast Saturday, Dec. 12 (10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
“I would do anything to bring her back, but I can’t,” Lily Waterman, 14, tells Moriarty. “And, it just like, frustrates me so bad.”
Waterman’s mother and the other women were asphyxiated; their bodies were wrapped in burlap that blended into the thick overgrowth and placed about 500 feet apart along the parkway. In searching the surrounding area where the women were found, police would find six more bodies – in what would become the biggest unsolved murder case in New York state. Moriarty speaks with current and former investigators about the new clues the murderer left behind.
The bodies were wrapped in burlap to help the killer cover his tracks, says former Chief of Detectives Dominick Varrone.
“I think burlap was selected because of its ability to take dampness, moisture and breathe, which would promote decay as well as act as camouflage,” Varrone says.
None of the “Gilgo Four” knew each other, but they were all sex workers, who had advertised on Craigslist. Megan Waterman is described by family members as a spunky but troubled kid who loved fashion and never would have willingly left her daughter. Waterman was taken to Long Island by a boyfriend, Akeem Cruz, as a sex worker. Cruz was ruled out as Waterman’s killer.
Lily Waterman says her memories of her mother’s disappearance are “blurry” because of the time that has passed since she went missing.
“I was just very, like, confused on why she … wasn’t around,” Waterman says. “That’s all I can remember, really.”
It wasn’t until later, when she grew older and tech savvy, that Lily Waterman was able to grasp what happened to her mother.
“I couldn’t process it because my whole life, I was just under the, like, I thought that she just got … stolen, and she never came back,” Lily Waterman says. “I didn’t realize, like, the line of work she was doing – how brutal it was. I didn’t realize that part of it.”
Moriarty and 48 HOURS report on the latest developments in the search for the Long Island serial killer through interviews with family members, former detectives and the Suffolk County Police Commissioner Geraldine Hart, who originally worked the case for the FBI. Moriarty’s report also raises questions about whether the initial investigation may have been stalled by a former corrupt and controversial police chief, James Burke, who might have been more worried about covering up his own crimes.
48 HOURS: “The Hunt for the Long Island Serial Killer” is produced by Mary Ann Rotondi and Murray Weiss. Gregory McLaughlin is producer-editor. Doreen Schechter and Gary Winter are the editors. Shaheen Tokhi is the associate producer. Patti Aronofsky is the senior producer. Nancy Kramer is the executive story editor. Judy Tygard is the executive producer.

Lucas let Steve know that Tripp wasn’t going to be prosecuted. Steve tried to defend Tripp, but Lucas didn’t want to hear it. Lucas repeated how Tripp raped his daughter and how he belonged behind bars. Ava was shocked to hear that Tripp was accused of rape. Kristen read the article, but didn’t see the details. Ava wanted to go after Tripp, but Kristen stopped her from going. Allie had a gun and wanted to shoot Tripp. Tripp tried to stop her from shooting him. She wanted him to face up to what he did. She wanted him to tell the truth about what he did that night. Lani didn’t want Eli at the hospital with her. Kayla wanted to leave them alone. He said he had the right to be there. Lani changed her mind and let him stay. Ava wanted to go to Tripp. Kristen warned her that she could make a mistake. She suggested that she get a disguise, but Ava didn’t have time. Kristen told her that Trask wasn’t pressing charges. She wanted to know who was spreading the story. Tripp continued to tell Allie that he didn’t rape her, but she didn’t believe it. She still wanted to shoot him. Kayla told Lani about the Lamaze classes. She had flyers for her and her coach. Eli wanted to be the coach, but Lani wasn’t happy about it. Lucas and Steve continued to argue over whether Tripp is a rapist. Lucas reminded him that Tripp is also Ava’s son so he was capable of anything. Ava wanted to help Tripp. Kristen told her that he wasn’t convicted. Ava thought the charge would ruin his life. Allie demanded that Tripp give her answers or she would shoot him. He finally admitted that they had sex.

Steve told Lucas that he should know that a son didn’t necessarily turn out like his mother. Lucas didn’t want to hear it so they went back and forth about that. Lucas wanted to know how Kayla was dealing with the situation. Lucas warned him that he was the one destroying his family. Lani refused to let Eli be her coach. He wanted to know who she would get. She didn’t know because of him. He yelled at her and told her that he was tired of her throwing up what he did in his face. Ava was afraid the story would follow Tripp for life. Kristen warned her that Tripp might turn her in to the police. Tripp wanted to explain the DNA test to Allie. Lani couldn’t believe Eli yelled at her. He said there was only so much he could take before he snapped. They argued over Kristen again. He refused to apologize for keeping Lani out of jail. He was tired of apologizing to her for what he did. He told her that she was the one wrong for what happened. Tripp told Allie that he made up the story he told her. She said he forgot when he raped her. Steve told Kayla that the London police weren’t going to prosecute Tripp. He noticed that she was disappointed by the news. He wanted to talk to her about it, but she didn’t want to do it. Allie told Tripp what happened to Sami. She wanted to do what her mother did to her rapist and make sure he couldn’t rape again. Recap written by Michele and Cheryl

Sarah told Xander that they had to break up in order for her to get Philip to trust him. Allie went to see Lucas. They talked about the case. She told him how she still had a chance to have Tripp prosecuted. She told him that she had Trask send the info to Europe. She decided to press charges against Tripp. She didn’t want Sami to find out about the rape. She thought Sami would blame her. Lucas confided in her that Sami was raped when she was younger. Tripp told Steve that he talked to the cop in Europe. Steve was surprised Allie pursued the case. Philip caught Charlie using his laptop. He threatened to fire him if he didn’t say why he was really using his computer. He told him how Xander made him spy on him. Ava went to see Kristen at the prison. Kristen told her that Xander was there too and he was asking about her. Philip told Charlie that Xander needed to accept that there was nothing to get on him. He told him how Xander’s been doing things to undermine him. He wanted Charlie to help him instead of Xander. Kayla went home and Steve told her how Tripp was talking to the London police. She thought that Allie did the right thing. Lucas continued to tell Allie what happened when Sami got raped. Kristen continued to talk to Ava about Xander asking for her. Xander wasn’t thrilled about Philip cozying up to Sarah, but he agreed to it. She wanted to make it look believable.

Philip walked in while Xander and Sarah pretended to argue. Ava was surprised that Xander knew that Angela existed. Kristen told her that he only knew about Angela and didn’t realize she was the same person. Kayla and Steve argued over Tripp and Allie. She wanted him to help Tripp own up to what he did. Lucas told Allie what happened when Allan bragged about getting away with raping Sami. He told her how Sami got a gun and made sure Allan wouldn’t rape anyone else. The London police called Allie. She wanted to know if they were going to arrest Tripp. Ava didn’t understand why Xander would be after her when he thought she was dead. Kristen told her that he thought Angela was involved with Titan. Kristen wanted to know why she was working with Philip. Sarah and Xander continued to pretend to argue in front of Philip. Allie found out that the police didn’t think she had a case. Lucas was upset and didn’t understand when Henry was proof she was raped. She told him that he only proved that they had sex. She didn’t think it was fair that Tripp got to live his life after what he did. Ava told Kristen how Philip was laundering money through Titan. Lucas had Henry with him and ran into Steve. He wanted to know if he wanted to meet their grandson. Ava saw an article about Tripp and told Kristen he was her son. Allie went to Kayla and Steve’s place and pulled a gun out on Tripp.

Primetime DVD Review: “Hawaii Five-O (2010): The Complete Series”

DVD Review!

Hawaii Five-O (2010): The Complete Series DVD cover

“Hawaii Five-O (2010): The Complete Series” Review by Suzanne 12/1/20

This was a good show and a successful reboot (one of many on CBS). It was a very middle-of-the-road show, in my opinion.  Don’t get me wrong… They worked hard to make this show full of action and character development over the years. Unfortunately, when shows have so many action, they keep trying to outdo themselves each season. At some point, it gets ridiculous.  Also, I have a hard time believing in the show because I lived in Hawaii. There is very little crime there – especially violent crime. Oh, well. What do I know? The show aired for 10 years and has many fans. I know that the actors were very good to their fans, especially the ones who lived in Hawaii. Every Fall, they had a big fan get-together on Waikiki, “Sunset on the “Beach” with a big screen. They would watch the first episode and chat with the fans. They had a red carpet and would take selfies with fans. Over 10,000 people went to this event each year. I always wanted to go, but it would have required camping out there the day ahead of time to get a good seat, and I’m a little too old for that.

In the series, Alex O’Loughlin stars as former Navy Captain Steve McGarrett, and Scott Caan plays his partner, Danny Williams. They run a special state police task force, answerable to the governor. The original “Hawaii Five-0” was based on a real-life police task force that existed in the 1950’s.  It’s enjoyable drama with a fine cast.

I’m happy to have the DVD set, since I didn’t watch the show regularly. Besides the 240 episodes, the set also has over 20 hours of special features, which includes Detled and Extended scenes, gag reels, alternate endings, music videos, behind the scenes featurettes, launch promos and more, plus audio commentaries on select episodes and an all-new bonus disc featuring the cast and crew looking back on the show.

Street Date: December 8, 2020

Format: DVD

Description: HAWAII FIVE-0 is a contemporary take on the classic series about an elite federalized task force whose mission is to wipe out the crime that washes up on the islands’ sun-drenched beaches. Detective Steve McGarrett, a decorated Naval officer turned cop, returned to Oahu after Hawaii’s former governor persuaded him to head up the new team: his rules, no red tape and full blanket authority to hunt down the biggest “game” in town. Joining McGarrett are Detective Danny “Danno” Williams, a relocated ex-New Jersey cop who is committed to keeping the islands safe for his children; Captain Lou Grover, who formerly headed Hawaii’s SWAT unit; Jerry Ortega, the islands’ local conspiracy theorist; Tani Rey, a bold, recent police academy graduate; Junior Reigns, a former SEAL who comes to McGarrett looking for a job.and Adam Noshimuri, a friend with old ties to a deadly crime family. Helping them is Kamekona, a local entrepreneur who has his pulse on the Island; Sgt. Duke Lukela, a trusted member of the HPD; and medical examiner Dr. Noelani Cunha. The state’s brash FIVE-0 unit, who may spar and jest among themselves, remain determined to eliminate the seedy elements from the 50th state.

Recap written by Michele and Cheryl

Sarah tried to spy on Philip by using Christmas decorations. While they were working on the decorations, she tried to pump him about his meeting at the town square. Xander went to see Kristen to find out about Angela Van Decamp. She said she knew who she was so he wanted to know about her. Bonnie talked to Jennifer about Justin blowing her off. Bonnie realized that Jennifer didn’t care because she had a happy marriage. She told Bonnie it wasn’t true. Jack told Justin about what happened with Kate. He didn’t think he would be able to get her back after what happened. Sarah continued to pump Philip about what he did while he was gone from Salem. Kristen told Xander that she had nothing to do with what was going on with Angela. Kristen told him that she wouldn’t lift a finger to help him and hoped someone was going after the company.

Sarah asked Philip about the women he dated while he was gone. They ended up talking about him being with Belle. Xander tried to convince Kristen to help him because Philip was trying to destroy Titan. She didn’t care until he told her Titan was Brady’s legacy too. She told him how Brady was finished with the company. Xander told her it was Brady’s kids’ legacy too. Philip wanted Sarah to help him get over Belle by getting him in the Christmas spirit. He wanted to throw a Christmas event and donate the proceeds to the hospital. He thought Xander would be upset that she was working with him. Kristen refused to help Xander save Titan. She just told him that it wouldn’t be a good idea to cross Angela or he would end up killed. Xander went home and told Sarah what happened. Sarah wanted to know if Kristen knew if she was involved. She said something fell in her lap and it would only work if Philip weren’t suspicious of her. Kristen called Ava and told her to come to the prison. Jack wished Adrienne were around because she knew what to say to make him feel better. Justin insisted that he should fight for Jennifer. He decided to meet with Jennifer at Julie’s Place. Bonnie thought she and Jennifer should move on and find real men. Bonnie saw two men and wanted to invite them to their table. Jack and Justin showed up at Julie’s Place and saw Bonnie and Jennifer. They wanted to sit with them, but the guys showed up.
