[“We wish you a merry christmas” instrumental]

Eric: Here we go, you two. Here we are. Merry christmas eve.

Paris: As to you. Famous eggnog.

Eric: Oh, you remember? Zende, here.

Zende: Thank you.

Eric: That’s for you. Go ahead.

Paris: How could I forget? Cheers.

Zende: Cheers.

Quinn: So eric told me that rick and R.J. Are skiing?

Ridge: Yeah.

Brooke: I wasn’t thrilled when they told us that news, but you know? At least they’re together. And they’re having fun.

Ridge: Yeah, and you’re going to see them tomorrow when we’re all together. We’re gonna video chat with them, all right? It’s going to be okay.

Brooke: Okay.

Ridge: Excuse me one second, carter’s here.

Quinn: So, before one of us says something that’s going to, you know, set the other one off, I just want–

Brooke: We don’T. Not today.

Quinn: Deal.

[ Baby laughing ]

Douglas: She’s waking! Beth is waking up!

Hope: Oh, my sweet, little angel.

Hope: Well, someone is certainly excited to go over to eric’S.

Douglas: Yeah, we get to open presents, and sing carols, and eat pie!

Liam: Okay, okay, he’s excited. We’ve established this. I’m going to go beth and then we’ll take off. Okay? All right.

Douglas: You’re coming as soon as you can, right, mommy?

Hope: Oh, you bet. But first, I get to visit with my father.

Finn: And you’ve been so good this year that I think santa will come down and–

Thomas: Fill your stocking with tons of presents!

Steffy: This time of year, you are going to grow to cherish hayes. Family coming together and celebrating, it’s absolutely wonderful.

Taylor: My grandson’s first christmas. I’m so happy to be here for this.

Steffy: He love some decorations. Think you’re still going to be saying that when our final guest arrives?

[ Taylor sighing ] I still can’t believe you convinced me to invite sheila.

Douglas: Hi, paris. Merry christmas.

Paris: Merry christmas, douglas. Have you heard?

Douglas: What?

Paris: I’m pretty sure I saw santa’s sleigh flying over brentwood when I walked in.

Douglas: Really?

Paris: Yeah. Have you been a good boy?

Douglas: I think so.

Paris: Aw, don’t worry, man. I know so. Harder than that! Oh yeah.

Carter: Hey, is hope still unloading stuff from the car? I can go help.

Liam: Actually, she’s–

Brooke: You look so great! What are you doing?

Liam: She’s, uh, she’s spending some time with her dad.

Ridge: Well, at least she didn’t invite deacon here, so that’s good.

Deacon: Merry christmas!

Hope: Merry christmas. Hi, what is all this?

Deacon: Just a couple of gifts for beth and douglas. You mind if I put them under the tree?

Hope: Oh, of course. Thank you, dad. But really, you shouldn’t have.

Deacon: Come on, I want these kids to like me, right? Listen, little advice from the old man: Never underestimate the power of bribery. This is for you.

Hope: Dad, thank you. I feel bad. I don’t have anything for you.

Deacon: Oh, you got me the best gift ever. Being here with you for christmas eve.

Finn: Thanks. Did you get him down already?

Steffy: He’s already worn out.

Taylor: What about kelly?

Steffy: Kelly’s drawing one more picture of santa. I think all of her questions are coming out on paper, like how to reindeer fly?

Thomas: She’s not exactly the only one with questions. I have a few of my own. So, sheila is coming? Look, I know that she birthed you and all but could make my mom a little uncomfortable.

Taylor: Honey, I’m the one that suggested it.

Thomas: Why?

Taylor: Because if we ignore sheila and and try to make her go away, it’s just going to feed her obsessive personality. I think it’s best to keep an eye on her and try to diffuse those tendencies as best we can. Plus, it gives me an opportunity to study her in a safe setting. She says she’s reformed. If she is, I’ll know.

[ Knocking ]

Sheila: Hello.

Finn: Hey. Come in, come in. Uh, merry–merry christmas.

Sheila: Um… merry christmas. Finn, steffy, thank you so much for inviting me. And thank you, taylor, for encouraging it. Such tree-mendous views.

[ Moaning ]

Quinn: Ah. Have mistletoe, will travel.

Eric: Everywhere on this property. There’s a mistletoe everywhere, you’re there.

Quinn: Oh, so many kissing opportunities.

Eric: Yeah. The kitchen. There’s some in the kitchen.

Quinn: Kitchen?

Eric: Upstairs.

Quinn: Oh.

Eric: You frown when I say the kitchen.

Quinn: Well…

Eric: You would love it in the kitchen.

Quinn: We’ve exhausted the kitchen.

Eric: I’ll show you.

[ Laughing ]

Paris: Mm. Is anyone concerned to stand next to the fireplace with this?

Carter: I thought it was just me, but it’s a strong batch this year.

Zende: I am definitely only having one. We’re getting up early, after all. Forrester family tradition.

Carter: Ah, pitching in at the homeless shelter on christmas morning.

Liam: We’ll be there. I mean, that’s not the reason we’re going to be up early. Those two are going to be waking us up at the crack of dawn, guarantee you.

Brooke: ‘Twas the night before christmas…

Liam: It’ll be worth it just to see the look on their faces christmas morning.

Brooke: “But I heard him exclaim ere he drove out of sight, ‘happy christmas to all and to all a good night.'”

Douglas: Thanks, grandma.

Brooke: Of course, honey. You’re welcome.

Ridge: Wow.

Brooke: So cute.

Eric: Brooke, glass of bubbly.

Brooke: Oh.

Eric: No, no. It’s non-alcoholic.

Brooke: Oh.

Eric: I got it just for you. They said that this is just as good as champagne without actually being champagne.

Brooke: Okay. Well, in that case. Oh, wow. It’s delicious.

Ridge: May I?

Brooke: Yeah.

Ridge: Thank you. Yeah, you’d never know that this is not real.

Brooke: See?

Quinn: Which I happen to have right here.

Eric: Wow, nice. Here we are. Ridge?

Ridge: Thank you.

Eric: Nice. Everyone, everyone, if I may just for a moment. Look, I know that tomorrow is the main event, christmas day, but christmas eve is pretty special to me too. Just the anticipation of it, actually. Having a house filled with all this happiness and this love and this joy. Here’s to tonight, and to all the memories we’ll make. Cheers.

All: Cheers.

Liam: Cheers. Clink, clink.

Deacon: Well, you better get going. You know, a big shindig over at eric’s and everything.

Hope: Oh, I’ve got time.

Deacon: It’s okay, it’s okay. They’re expecting you. Listen, give everyone my best. Okay? Like everyone who’s receptive to it, at least.

Hope: So, mom, sort of?

Deacon: That’s pretty much about it, right? Just…yeah, give brooke my best. Um… quietly, maybe whisper.

Hope: Will do.

Deacon: Thank you for this.

Hope: I wish I could do more.

Deacon: Next year.

Hope: I hope so.

Deacon: I know so. You’ve given me a second chance of being a father, hope, I don’t take that for granted. I won’t let you down.

Steffy: Okay, I know you’re an invited guest, somehow, my mom convinced me it was the right thing to do, but don’t stretch it out. One drink’s not going to turn into two. You have a few minutes with finn, and a few minutes with hayes, then you to leave.

Sheila: I know the plan. I am going to win you over, though, steffy.

Finn: Here you go.

[ Laughing ]

Sheila: Thank you. So, where’s li? I thought she’d be here.

Finn: She’s with my dad, they’re trying to work things out.

Sheila: Wow, that’s great. That’s wonderful.

Finn: We invited him. But I think right now they just need some time alone.

Sheila: Understandably. What better time of year for for healing and understanding. I really have high hopes for them, finn. I think christmas, this time next year, everything will be back to normal. You’ll be celebrating as just one big, happy family. Family. All these years, just… alone, you know? Just wondering what the holidays could possibly be like. And I’m finally celebrating it with my family. Don’t settle for products that give you a sort-of white smile.

Taylor: Speaking of family, I have a little announcement for mine. I am staying in L.A. It’s time to come home for good.

Thomas: Really, mom?

Taylor: Yes!

Thomas: That’s amazing.

Steffy: You just made my christmas, my year! Oh, mom.

[ Baby cooing ]

Taylor: Come here.

Steffy: Oh, I think–

Sheila: It’s hayes.

Steffy: I’ll go get him.

Thomas: That’s great.

Sheila: I really appreciate what you’ve done here today, taylor. I mean, knowing that you’re willing to give me a chance, and know that I’ve changed, it really means a lot. I was really a different person back then.

Taylor: We both were.

Steffy: All right.

[ Baby cooing ]

Steffy: Would you… would you like to hold him?

Sheila: I’d love to, yeah.

Steffy: All right.

Sheila: Merry christmas, babe.

Eric: From boughs of holly, right, ready?

Zende: Let’s do it.

Deck the halls

with boughs of holly

fa la la la la la la

’tis the season

to be jolly

Liam: So, how was it?

Hope: It was everything I hoped for and more.

Liam: Hm. Good.

Quinn: Hey. Dinner is almost ready.

Brooke: Oh, good. Well, I would like to reiterate eric’s gratitude and just say I am so happy that everybody’s here tonight and we can share this evening. Put all of our differences aside, at least for one night, right? And have a good time together, celebrate christmas as friends and family.

Quinn: And everyone could be at peace.

Carter: To feel joy.

Paris: Love.

Douglas: And to eat pie.

Ridge: That’s my grandson saying what everybody else is thinking. Nice job.

Hope: Do you want some pie?

Nicorette knows, quitting

smoking is freaking hard.

Thomas: So I left L.A., Went east, went through utah, camped, everything, went up–

Sheila: Excuse me.

Thomas: Of course, have you ever been camping?

Taylor: …So much. I am just…I–I– I am so happy to be here with you and thomas. I wish your father– you know what? I’m not going to do that today. Not…no.

Steffy: No, it’s okay, mom.

Thomas: Hey, how’s that… how’s that bird coming along?

Steffy: I think we have five more minutes.

Thomas: Okay, five minutes.

Sheila: That’s–that’s that’s probably my cue to to leave.

Finn: You sure?

Sheila: Yeah, I’ve imposed long enough. I really want to thank you, though, all of you, especially you, taylor, for including me today. This is the memory I am never going to forget. It’s the best christmas I have had in a long, long time.

Douglas: Is it time? Can we open presents?

Ridge: Presents? This is turning out to be a great day.

Eric: Correct. It’s not just these presents, it’s the wonderful gifts that we’re celebrating tonight. Greatest gift of all is the birth of jesus and celebrating his life and his teachings.

Douglas: Like helping others?

Hope: Exactly. So, tomorrow morning, for example, when we go to the shelter.

Eric: And the beauty of that is it doesn’t have to just be tomorrow morning, it can be all year long. The spirit of christmas can be every day. We carry that with us every day of the year.

Ridge: Treat people with kindness, with respect. Hold on to this feeling that we have right now and I don’t know, make it part of who we are always. And that’s how we should deal with people, how we should deal with this planet. If we can do that, then we’re going to be fine. I think. Hey, merry christmas!

All: Merry christmas.

Ridge: Happy holidays, all right.

Carter: Merry christmas.

Ridge: Right, here we go.
