Victor: Well, I’m delighted to hear that victoria intends to restore the company’s original name.

Nikki: Yes, newman enterprises. Has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?

Victor: Hmm? Now, do you want me to speed that process along? I can do it from the pr side of things.

Nikki: I’ll mention it to my co-ceo.

Victor: Okay.

Nikki: There’s something else we need to discuss with victoria and the rest of the family, too, soon.

Victor: You mean diane jenkins?

Nikki: Jack has managed to keep it quiet up to now, but who knows how long that will last?

Victor: I told diane jenkins if she knows what’s good for her, she’ll get out of town as quickly as she can, because she’s not welcome here.

Nikki: Well, let’s hope that she listened enough to stay away from our family. Lord knows victoria has enough to deal with right now.

Victor: Yeah. My god, yes.

[ Sighs ]

Billy: Hey! You here for an afternoon caffeine fix?

Victoria: Yeah, you got it. You care to join me?

Billy: I would love to, but jack summoned us to the abbott family house for a meeting.

Victoria: Are you the designated treat bearer?

Billy: [ Chuckles ] No, not exactly. This is my apology. I’m gonna be late ’cause I had a meeting at chancellor.

Victoria: Well, any excuse for an afternoon sugar fix, i guess.

Billy: That’s right. You know me well.

Victoria: Well, we’ll talk another time, then.

Billy: Is there something in particular you wanted to talk about? Are the kids alright?

Victoria: Oh, johnny and katie are fine.

Billy: So what’s up?

Victoria: Oh, it’s nothing. I — I just heard this very interesting podcast that was produced by your company.

Billy: Oh, good. Well, that’s great. We got a bunch of new series coming out. There was that one that they talk about fermenting your own food. It’s got an unbelievable number of unique listens.

Victoria: No, actually, it wasn’t a how-to. It was more personal. It had the strangest name — “the grinning soul.”

Billy: Right, yeah. Yeah, I talked to that guy after we signed him. I think he’s out of california. He’s got an interesting take on the world.

Victoria: He had an even more interesting take on my soon-to-be ex-husband.

Jack: Can I get you some water, diane? You’re looking rather pale.

Diane: Oh, no, I’m fine. Just caught off guard.

Kyle: Yeah, maybe I should’ve warned you about what I had in mind before I asked you here.

Diane: Oh, no, I-I-i understand why you didn’t, and it’s okay. I knew I was going to have to face your family at some point when I came back to genoa city. I just hadn’t imagined doing it all at once with everyone here. But it’s certainly efficient this way.

Kyle: Okay. Let’s get to it.

Diane: So, ladies, I’ve kept track of your many accomplishments over the years, enough to know that you’re leading happy and successful lives.

Abby: No thanks to you.

Ashley: If you had your way, we’d be in prison right now, serving time for a murder that you faked.

Diane: I wouldn’t have allowed that to happen.

Ashley: Oh, really? You would’ve come to our rescue. Before your “death,” you were blackmailing my daughter and me, threatening to have us arrested.

Traci: Um…I’m sure that diane knows how we all feel about the terrible things she did in the past. But that’s not why kyle brought us here today, to re-litigate it all.

Diane: Thank you, traci. As I understand it, I’m here to answer and all questions about why I ran away, what I’ve been doing since then, and what my intentions are now. And that is perfectly alright with me.

Abby: So you’re looking forward to this.

Diane: Yes, if it’ll convince you that I really have changed. Absolutely. I’m strong enough to handle anything you dish out. So don’t hold back. Fire away.

Ashley: I have a question. Why should we believe one word that comes out of your mouth?

Billy: I listened to the first podcast of “the grinning soul.” To me, it sounded like a generic diatribe on the abuse of power.

Victoria: There was a detailed description of a power broker in particular. A greedy mogul with no moral compass who betrayed the woman that he loved by lying to her about being sick. Gee, I wonder who that could be.

Billy: Oh, come on, victoria. Let’s be honest, that could be any number of people besides ashland. Maybe he was talking about a tech giant in silicon valley.

Victoria: Give me a break, billy. You can change your voice, but i know how you talk. I know the cadence of your speech. I know those phrases that you use. You’re the host. Admit it.

Billy: [ Laughs ] Oh, come on, that’s just — that’s hilarious.

Victoria: It’s not meant to be a joke.

Billy: Why would I do that? I already have a podcast. I’m already standing on a soapbox. I don’t need to come up with some silly name like “the grinning soul.”

Victoria: It’s very much you, actually.

Billy: Really?

Victoria: “Soul” promises a certain level of depth and introspection, and “grinning” undercuts that with sarcasm and self-deprecation.

Billy: And here I thought it would look good on a t-shirt.

Victoria: Look, when are you gonna stop sticking your nose where it doesn’t belong? I’m serious, billy. When are you gonna leave me in peace?

Billy: Okay, victoria —

Victoria: No, the last time this happened, you lost chanccomm. When are you gonna learn your lesson?

Billy: Okay —

Victoria: What is it gonna take?

Billy: Hold on a second. Alright? Let’s just stop and take a look at the big picture for one second.

Victoria: And what is that in your mind?

Billy: If this “grinning soul” person was actually talking about your ex, would you have a problem with that?

Victor: Diane jenkins better not harass victoria in any way. Otherwise, she’s gonna have to deal with me.

Nikki: Oh, I didn’t mean to imply that. Diane has no reason to contact her. And victoria doesn’t get out much these days anyway. She basically goes from home to the office and back, so I don’t think there’s much chance of her running into diane.

Victor: That reminds me, i have to tell adam not to mention anything about this to his sister.

Nikki: How did he find out?

Victor: I told him. I wanted to warn him. He and diane jenkins were co-conspirators in the day.

Nikki: Have you told anybody else? Nicholas, abby?

Victor: No, no. They’ll all have the same reaction. They’ll be stunned that she’s back in town. She wouldn’t get a warm welcome from anyone.

Kyle: I can see how upset you are, and I’m sorry. Look, I know you said you were okay with this, but it’s obviously difficult for you to see my mother again, so if you just want to forget the whole thing —

Diane: Kyle, I really hope you won’t do that, for your sake. I mean, surely they must see how much you need this.

Abby: Are you serious? After everything you put kyle through, you’re trying to be his protector? We are his family. We have been there for him. Where do you get off telling him what he needs?

Jack: It seems to me you have the most to benefit from this little exercise.

Diane: Good point. But more than anything, I want to prove to my son that I’m sincere, and this is the opportunity he’s given me to do that. It — it might be the only one I have. So if you need to lash out at me or go over my sordid history point by point, then that’s what we’ll do. It might even be helpful for you.

Ashley: Kyle, I hope you’re taking notes and realizing what she’s doing. Diane here is trying to set the agenda. She’s trying to manage us. Nice choice. That little quiver in your voice — you know, how brave you are to be facing us all when actually you know you don’t have any other choice. I mean, you could turn and walk out the door, but you would never do that because you’ve got too much riding on this.

Diane: I am not manipulating my son. I’ve been completely open with him. I don’t want anything from kyle, except his forgiveness.

Ashley: Not yet, you don’T.

Diane: [ Scoffs ]

Traci: I think we should hear diane out, like we told kyle we would.

Abby: What?

Traci: Oh, abby, don’t get me wrong. I am as skeptical as you are about all of this, but isn’t that the point? We told kyle we would listen to diane’s story, and if it doesn’t ring true, we will know it and we can call her out then.

Kyle: It’s up to you. I want you to be okay with this.

Ashley: By all means.

Jack: Alright, diane, you have the floor. Give it your best shot. With golo, I’ve lost 13 inches in my waist.

Nikki: I assume the abbotts will let abby know about diane’s return, although for her sake, i wish she’d never have to know. And we’re also going to have to tell nicholas so he’s not blind-sided. I know it would bother him if he heard about diane from someone else, especially since you told adam.

Victor: That’s different.

Nikki: How is that different?

Victor: Sweetheart, adam was involved with her as a co-conspirator. I warned him to stay the hell away from that woman, okay? Nicholas can’t stand her. He couldn’t stand her ever since he learned how much damage she’s done to our family, especially to you.

Nikki: There was nothing she wouldn’t stoop to. Just when you thought she was at her lowest, she would find a way.

Victor: Somehow, I doubt that has changed.

Diane: Before I get into the details of my life in la, I just want to say something.

Ashley: Okay, so you’re gonna tell us your story, and now you’re stalling.

Diane: I just want you to know that I understand why you’re suspicious. I used to see myself the same way, as someone who was vindictive and self-obsessed and incapable of change. I had — I had sunk too low. I was too set in my ways.

Abby: Hmm. And then a miracle happened, some sort of great epiphany?

Diane: [ Scoffs ] No, nothing so dramatic. It just gradually became clear that I was lying to myself, that this whole notion that i couldn’t change was just an excuse, it was permission I was giving myself not to do the hard work that it would take to become a better person, a decent human being.

Ashley: That’s a pretty low bar.

Traci: Well, you have to start somewhere.

Diane: That’s right. It’s kind of pathetic. Then I realized that that attitude was what was costing me any chance of reuniting with kyle. And I realized that I had to at least redeem myself, that I had to try to earn some scrap of self-respect, something that i had never had.

Abby: Interesting, because, as I recall, you’ve always had a very high opinion of yourself.

Ashley: True. Your needs always took higher priority over anybody else’S.

Diane: [ Sighs ]

Jack: An woe be unto anyone who got in your way.

Diane: Hmm, that was arrogance, self-entitlement, not self-respect. It took me years to learn the difference.

Traci: So these revelations, did you come to them all by yourself?

Diane: [ Scoffs ] Oh, no, no, no, no. I had plenty of help. Um…after a few false starts, i found an amazing therapist. Actually, a bad-ass truth-teller who made me face what an utter disaster my life had become. She forced me to be realistic about what it would take for me to turn things around for myself.

Kyle: This therapist, was she in favor of you coming back to genoa city?

Diane: Well, there were risks involved, which we discussed at length.

Ashley: That would be a no.

Jack: Hard to imagine any reputable therapist would go along with your plan to anonymously lure me to la, use my granddaughter as a means to get to me.

Diane: Jack, I explained my intentions.

Ashley: We’ve heard all your explanations. We’re not buying them.

Abby: Mom’s right. How do we know that you’re not lying through your teeth about going to therapy? And that you’re just telling kyle what you think he needs to hear?

Victoria: [ Sighs ] I thought you had a meeting to get to with your family.

Billy: Well, I see, I ask you a question, you don’t want to talk anymore? No, go ahead, victoria. I will make some time. I would love to hear your answer. What do you care if some random podcaster is talking about ashland? Because he is a monster, he did abuse power. He committed fraud by trying to get his hands on newman enterprises, but he won’t face any legal consequences because he didn’t really break the law. But don’t you think it’s fair for the public to actually hear all that, to hear his name being called out?

Victoria: Please don’t pretend like you’re doing this for my sake. I am a private person and you are exploiting my private pain for your overblown ego.

Billy: Oh —

Victoria: So much for your promises to be there for me. Now I know how much those are worth.

Trelegy for copd.

Victor: Thank you. Very kind of you. Well, my baby, I paid the check.

Nikki: Thank you, darling. What’s in the bag?

Victor: I’ll tell you. It’s your favorite dessert for later.

Nikki: Oh, so I can get the sour taste of diane jenkins out of my mouth?

Victor: I thought you had put her out of your mind already.

Nikki: Well, actually, I had. I was thinking about ashland and his not-so-subtle attempt to impress victoria. Offering to donate half of what you paid him off to new hope. I mean, talk about dramatic gesture.

Victor: $250 million? You serious? He’s gonna pay that to nick as his charity? That boy can do a lot of good with that. You know why he’s doing it, right?

Nikki: Of course.

Victor: He’s trying to buy victoria’s forgiveness.

Nikki: Well, she swears that it will not sway her, but what concerns me is he’s obviously not giving up on the idea of getting her back. And no good can come from that.

Victor: [ Exhales sharply ] To be honest with you, I’m concerned. Hopefully victoria will make it clear to him that she is through with him, wants nothing to do with him. I want that bastard to get out of town.

Nikki: We should be so lucky.

Billy: I had a run-in today with a man who shall remain nameless, a mogul who seemingly has everything and yet he still wants more and more. And he lies and manipulates to get it. This guy takes and takes until he sucks everyone around him dry, as if it’s gonna make him feel more powerful. I mean, if you ask me, it’s like he doesn’t trust his own business acumen so he has to lie and deceive to get his upper hand, causing pain to everyone close to him.

Abby: Exactly how long have you been in therapy, diane? When did you start?

Traci: I would like to know that, too.

Ashley: Are you still seeing this psychologist, social worker?

Diane: Psychologist. And, no, not since I left la to travel here, but…

Abby: I would love to see her credentials. Is she licensed?

Diane: Of course.

Ashley: What’s wrong with phone sessions or video sessions? I mean, you don’t have to stop seeing a shrink just because you’re on the road.

Abby: Yeah, especially since she’s helped you out so much.

Ashley: Mm-hmm.

Jack: That is a fair point.

Kyle: Are you gonna keep seeing her once things settle down for you?

Diane: Oh, absolutely.

Traci: I don’t remember hearing you answer abby’s last couple of questions. How long have you been seeing the psychologist, diane?

Diane: Uh, six years, give or take.

Abby: Which is it, “give” or “take”?

Diane: I mean, if you want exact dates —

Ashley: And when did it go from you arguing with this person to you realizing you needed real help?

Diane: Well, things really got rolling with my psychologist about four and a half years ago.

Abby: [ Laughs ] Okay, so you expect us to believe that you went from this evil manipulator, someone who got off on making her enemies’ lives miserable, to some totally healed, ethical grown-up with no sociopathic tendencies…

Ashley: In four and a half years?

Abby: That’s record time.

Jack: It does sound like a bit of a stretch.

Diane: You asked, I answered. I can’t give you an exact timeline for when my perspective changed. As I said, it was a gradual process.

Ashley: I’d like to see your bank statements.

Diane: [ Chuckles ]

Ashley: I think that would put everything into focus.

Diane: Okay. You’re welcome to take a look at my finances. Um, I’m not wealthy, but I can take care of myself. I just bought a home in la.

Jack: Oh, yes, keemo’s house.

Ashley: A pretext for getting close to allie.

Diane: Alright, well, the point is that I’m self-sufficient. I have a career, friends, a life in california. I didn’t come here out of desperation. I came here because I’m finally strong enough to face the backlash that I knew would be waiting for me. And…because after all these years, I — I finally feel that I have something worthwhile to offer my son.

[ Door opens ]

Billy: Hey, sorry I’m late. I got caught up at work, and then I stopped to get some — whoa.

Diane: Hello, billy. You’re looking well.

Billy: And you’re looking alive.

Diane: Thanks, I think.

Kyle: We’re giving her a chance to make her case as to why she should be allowed back into our lives.

Billy: And this is the jury, huh? Tough crowd.

Traci: Diane was just telling us how she’s rehabilitated herself in los angeles.

Billy: Well, I’m sorry i missed that part of the discussion. You’ll have to fill me in, trace. Please, sorry to interrupt. Carry on.

Diane: I — I don’t know how much more there is to say. I mean, at a certain point, you are all going to have to decide whether or not you believe redemption is possible. Not just for me, but for anyone.

[ Exhales sharply ] Billy, I would think you do, based on the podcast that I’ve heard you do and how you’ve made changes in your life.

Billy: Look at that, I’ve doubled my audience. There’s now you and traci. That’s good, right?

Diane: And the two of you, you’ve both found it in your hearts to forgive victor and phyllis — people who have hurt you deeply. And — and, traci, I mean, the characters in your novels have all learned and grown from their mistakes, so surely you must think that people are capable of that. And you, you’re a new mother to a little boy. I can promise you that I feel the same profound love for kyle that you do for dominic. Have I failed him? Yes. Horribly. And all I want is a chance to try to make that up to him, to be the mother that he deserves. I mean, why would any of you stand in the way of me doing that?

Itchy?

“The young and the restless”

will continue.

I’ve got moderate to severe

plaque psoriasis.

Traci: I am just curious, how do you see this going forward, this second chance with kyle? How does that look to you in your mind?

Diane: Well, I’m — I’m in no position to make any demands. I would just take what I can get. No, no, I didn’t mean it — I’m not talking about things. I just mean that I would welcome any of kyle’s time and attention that he could spare. You know, if it’s just the occasional phone call to catch up every so often or — or a christmas card once a year, it’s — it’s up to him. I would follow his lead.

Jack: You really expect us to believe you would settle for that?

Diane: I’ve gone so many years without any contact with my son at all. That just being able to look him in the eye and tell him how much I love him and miss him… anything else would be a gift.

Billy: Well, so far, it sounds like you’re telling us what you would settle for, but we haven’t heard what you actually want. In your heart of hearts, what do you — what do you want?

Diane: [ Sighs ]

Kyle: She already told me that. She wants to be a part of my life.

Abby: Are you talking about following kyle to italy?

Diane: Well, if kyle were comfortable with that, that would be amazing.

Ashley: Here we go.

Diane: My italian’s kind of rusty, but harrison and I could practice together.

Ashley: And what if kyle and summer decide to move back to genoa city?

Diane: Then I would plan accordingly.

Ashley: Have you really thought this through? Are you aware that the newmans hate you? Literally every single one of them hates you.

Diane: It doesn’t have to be an issue. I would simply avoid them. I’ve gotten used to living a quiet life.

Abby: Okay, now that I don’t believe.

Diane: Well, it’s true, abby. Like I said, I’m a different person. Just like you’re not going around naked on horseback anymore. Anyway, there’s always been tension between the abbotts and the newmans. That’s just the way it is.

Abby: Not so much anymore.

Billy: Yeah, fyi, the landscape has changed a little bit since you were last here. With the exception of me and victor and adam and myself and at times victoria and myself — other than that, everyone else gets along pretty well.

Traci: And I give abby a lot of credit for that. She worked very hard to bring the two families back together.

Billy: Yeah, my kids are part of both families. Kyle and summer are married. It’s not the two feuding camps anymore.

Ashley: Which means you wouldn’t have the opportunity to pit the families against each other, which used to be obviously one of your favorite tactics.

Diane: I have no desire to cause any problems. If the newmans give me a hard time, I will deal with it. It’d be worth it. And besides, this is all hypothetical, because kyle lives in italy and he hasn’t even agreed to anything.

[ Exhales sharply ] I hope you know, kyle, that i would face anything and I would make whatever sacrifices were necessary just to be close to you again. Just being in the same room with you has given me joy. I think I’ve said enough for now. I am gonna give you time to mull over what I’ve said. Thank you for giving me this chance.

Kyle: [ Sighs ] So…what do you think?

Victoria: Run it by the analysts and then get back to me. Thank you. Hi.

Nikki: Hey.

Victoria: How was lunch?

Nikki: Very nice.

Victoria: That’s great.

Victor: Well, I’m sorry to keep your co-ceo away for so long.

Victoria: Oh, no, it’s not a problem. We all have to eat, right? Why don’t you sit down? Join me.

Nikki: So what did you do for lunch?

Victoria: Oh, I haven’t really quite gotten around to it yet, but I did stop off and get some coffee earlier.

Victor: We could have brought you some lunch, you know, or you could have joined us.

Victoria: You wouldn’t have wanted me at lunch. Then you wouldn’t have been able to spend the entire meal discussing your concerns for me.

Nikki: Oh, now. Your name might have come up.

Victor: Only briefly.

Victoria: Uh-huh.

Victor: Mm-hmm.

Nikki: Well, our other children’s names as well, and some of the grandchildren. We can’t help it if our family is our favorite topic of…

Victoria: Favorite topic of what?

Nikki: Conversation. I just noticed that you took your necklace off. Good for you.

Victor: What did I miss? What’s the #1 retinol brand

Nikki: Ashland gave her a necklace for valentine’s day in the shape of a “v” for victoria. Do you remember that? She was wearing it earlier, and now she’s not.

Victoria: [ Sighs ]

Victor: Sweetheart, if that is a gift from that fraud, then why the hell are you wearing it?

Victoria: Daddy, please don’t read too much into it. It’s just a piece of jewelry, nothing more.

Nikki: I thought it might be because of ashland’s blatant attempt to buy your forgiveness by donating money to new hope.

Victoria: He hasn’t even gotten in touch with me about that yet, which is a good thing because it would be a waste of time for both of us. Speaking of gifts, daddy, i wanted to say thank you very much for replacing my portrait. That was very sweet of you.

Victor: I’m glad you like it.

Victoria: I love it. I will treasure it always. And also, I want to thank you for being so positive and supportive of me appointing mom as co-ceo.

Victor: Well, I think you and your mother will make a hell of a team, you know.

Victoria: I think so, too. I’m aware that you thought i would come around on the idea of promoting adam.

Victor: Well, my sweetheart, I still am hoping that you and adam will get along better. I think he has a lot to contribute. But it would’ve been premature to appoint him as co-ceo of the company now.

Victoria: I’m very glad you recognize that.

Victor: And I want to thank you for making the company what it is today. You’ve made it bigger and stronger than it was a year ago, in spite of that bastard locke.

Nikki: Amen.

Victor: And having said that, I think that you and your mother will make, as I said, a hell of a team. And the sky’s the limit.

Ashley: Kyle, I’m really sorry, honey, but I think your instincts were right earlier when you said you weren’t sure if diane’s motives were clear and if maybe she was just giving you a bunch of rehearsed lines. I think that’s exactly what we saw — a performance. It was an excellent performance because she’s had so much time to hone her craft, but not a bit sincere.

Traci: Oh, I think that might be going just a little bit far, because every time she looked at you and every time she talked about how overjoyed she would be to be a part of your life again, I really think she meant it.

Jack: Traci, you’re talking about something that hasn’t changed. Diane has always loved kyle. That’s not the issue.

Kyle: Dad’s right. I need help figuring out whether I can trust the rest of what she says. I mean, she came across as mature and calm, someone who’s grown as a person.

Abby: But what if you’re wrong?

Kyle: Is that what you think?

Abby: Honestly, I — I can’t be objective. I mean, just the sound of her voice…

Ashley: I know, it’s like nails on a chalkboard.

Abby: And the one thing that was a big red flag to me was that she brought up dominic. Seemed very calculated, like the old diane.

Ashley: True. What about you, billy? You’ve been very quiet.

Billy: Just didn’t think that you needed me to weigh in since I wasn’t here for the first part of the interrogation.

Kyle: I’d still like to hear what you have to say.

Billy: Why is that? You think I have some special insight because I’m a reformed screw-up?

Kyle: Something like that.

Billy: Look…

[ Sighs ] She sounded convincing to me. Like she knew where she went wrong and she’s really trying to make a change. I think I would probably give her another chance. Then again, I’m the king of second, third, 25th chances, so maybe I’m a little biased.

Kyle: I mean, aside from what you said before, traci, about my mother loving me, did she sound credible to you?

Traci: [ Sighs ] Do you mean do I think you can trust her implicitly?

Abby: God, no.

Traci: I think that you need to be really wary about her claim that she’s completely rehabilitated. I mean, diane may believe that herself, but there’s no way we can prove it. There’s no way we can know for sure.

Ashley: Only by observing her carefully over an extended period of time. I think we should avoid her altogether. That is my vote.

Kyle: Okay. So we have two who are opposed and two who slightly think it’s worth the risk. That leaves you, dad. Where do you stand? With depression, you just feel…blah.

Victoria: I believe that we have a 3:00 meeting.

Nikki: Yes, we do, with pr to talk about the timetable for restoring the corporate id “newman enterprises.”

Victor: Listen, killing newman/locke can’t happen soon enough.

Victoria: And I have just enough time to grab a quick bite before that meeting.

Nikki: Oh, honey, you go. I’ll meet you there.

Victoria: Alright, I’ll see you alter. I love you.

Victor: I love you, okay? She seems happy.

Nikki: Yes, she does.

Victor: I mean, considering what she has gone through, i think it’s amazing.

Nikki: Did you think she would fall apart?

Victor: Well, if she had, i wouldn’t have blamed her. But she handled it very well so far.

Nikki: Yes, she has.

Victor: You know, our girl is much stronger than I realized.

Nikki: Well, having your support has really helped her. That and knowing that the family stands behind her, and really, I mean, during the day, she can lose herself while she’s at work, anyway.

Victor: Do you think it’s the same when she goes home alone at night to that big, empty house?

Nikki: I don’t know. I do know that whether she lets us see it or not, she is heartbroken. She adored ashland — at least the man she thought he was before we found out what a complete fraud he is.

Victor: That’s putting it mildly.

Nikki: Victoria may try to convince us and herself that she’s moved on, but she’s still grieving that loss.

Victor: [ Sighs ]

Jack: Pretty much everything that diane said I have heard before. Her story is consistent, which either means, as ashley suspects, it’s well-rehearsed or it’s the truth. And traci’s right — there’s no way of knowing, at least not right now.

Kyle: But you do have an opinion, though. But it’s like you’ve been saying all along, you don’t want to influence my decision.

Jack: You just hit on the key. It is your decision. You’re gonna have to weight everything that you’ve heard and decide just how much you can live with. And I will support whatever decision you make.

Traci: And there’s no rush. You take as much time as you need.

Ashley: Please don’t let diane make you feel guilty and do not let her run the show.

Abby: I second that. And at the end of the day, you have to be comfortable with whatever you decide.

Kyle: [ Sighs ] I’m still not sure what I’m gonna do.

Billy: You could always flip a coin.

Traci: [ Sighs ]

[ Doorbell rings ]

Jack: I’ll get that. Wow, what a surprise.

Allie: Sorry to just show up like this. I didn’t call ahead because i thought — well, I thought i might chicken out before i actually got here. Is it a problem? Bad timing?

Jack: No, your timing is excellent. Come in and meet your family.
