Hope: Kiddos still off in dream land?
Liam: Yeah. Not a peep out of either one.
Hope: Well, I opened up a bottle of wine. Hi. Hey. What’s going on?
Liam: I don’t know. It’s, you know, same thing. Steffy, her– her husband is dead. Finn’s never coming back, which means her life is never going to be the same, which means our life is never going to be the same.
[ Knocking on door ] And I just keep thinking–
Brooke: Oh, gosh. I’m sorry to interrupt, but you won’t believe what happened?
Hope: Okay. Did– what’s going on? Is it something between you and ridge?
Steffy: Kelly wanted some water.
Taylor: Sorry, sweetie. What did you say?
Steffy: Are you okay?
Taylor: Yeah, yeah, I’m fine. Why?
Steffy: He’ll be here soon.
Taylor: Who?
Steffy: Dad, from seeing brooke. He’s telling her about sheila.
Taylor: Yeah. That’s gotta be a big shock for brooke.
Steffy: Yeah. I know.
Ridge: It was. Where are my kids? In bed already?
Steffy: Yeah, they are. I gave them a big kiss from their grandpa.
Taylor: So, you gonna tell us what happened with brooke?
Donna: I don’t wanna
put you on the spot.
Eric: Donna.
Donna, what we share is
exactly what I need.

[ Both laughing ]

Donna: Yeah?
Eric: Yeah.

Quinn: Sweetheart, do you want to come up to bed? I can give you one of my famous back rubs and you’ll drift right off, or not.
Eric: Quinn, there’s something I want to tell you. Something I think you need to know.
Brooke: I can’t believe it’s true. But I know it is because ridge told me.
Hope: So, ridge was here?
Brooke: Yes. He just left. It’s– it’s a lot to process. It’s almost too much.
Hope: Okay, so what exactly did ridge say?
Brooke: Steffy finally remembered. She knows who shot her and finn.
Hope: Oh, my god.
Liam: What? Is– is she… is she absolutely positive?
Brooke: Yes. Plus, they confessed.
Hope: So, who? Who was it?
Brooke: Sheila.
Steffy: So, how’d it go with brooke?
Ridge: Her mind was blown.
Steffy: Yeah. Learning sheila shot me and finn, you mean?
Ridge: Just the idea that a mother would kill her own kid. It’s just not comprehensible.
Taylor: She tried to claim it was an accident.
Steffy: I don’t care what sheila claims. She took finn’s life. She took my husband away. She took him away from our son, our family. I– I’m gonna hate that woman for the rest of my life.
Ridge: We all will, but let’s not forget who finn was in all this. He was a hero. If he hadn’t been there, if he hadn’t taken that bullet, um…
Steffy: So, did you tell brooke everything? About… sheila? What sheila did to brooke? She got her to drink that night?
Ridge: Mm-hm. It’s hard to watch brooke realizing that sheila turned her whole life upside-down. You love rich, delicious ice cream.
Eric: It has to with my granddaughter.
Quinn: Is steffy all right?
Eric: She’s– she’S… she’s finally on the mend, thankfully. Uh… I spoke to ridge a while ago and he says that, uh, she’s regained her memory and she’S… she remembers what happened that night.
Quinn: Oh.
Eric: Quinn, it– it… it was sheila. Sheila’s responsible for the shootings.
Quinn: Are you serious? I– I mean, no, I don’t know why I’d be shocked. I– I’m not– I’m not surprised at all. I’ve my own run-ins with that woman and… I mean, she– she definitely has a killer instinct, but… finn was her son. I mean, to put a bullet in your own child? I mean, that’s– that’s diabolical to a different level.
Eric: Yeah, well apparently finn stepped in front of the bullet that was meant– that was meant for his wife.
Quinn: Wait. Sheila was trying to kill steffy?
Eric: Yes! And she tried again after she shot finn. It’s just all so… it’s so horrible. And my heart just breaks for her. It just breaks for steffy. That she’D… that she’d lose the man she loved in such an awful way.
Liam: So– so all that time that steffy was just laying there in the hospital bed and sheila’s with us, keeping vigil all misty eyed, she– she was the one who put steffy there in the first place?
Brooke: It’s frightening, right? To know that sheila was that close. And that she might have tried it again if given the chance.
Hope: Liam, what is it?
Liam: Oh, my god.
Hope: What?
Liam: Do you remember, there was a day that I went in to see steffy and sheila was in the room with her. Nobody else was and sheila was like futzing with steffy’s iv?
Brooke: What?
Liam: Yeah. Yeah. Which– it was weird, so I called her out on it and she’s like, “I’m– I’m a nurse and I’m steffy’s family.” And it was– it was total bs, but to think that if I hadn’t walked in there, right? That– what if steffy’s life was in danger in that very moment?
Hope: Mom, I know that sheila is in custody, but I mean, she always seems to be able to get away with everything and–
Brooke: Not this time, honey. She took finn’s life and she wanted to take steffy’S. She’s never gonna see the light of day. And there’s something else.
Hope: What? Are there more victims?
Brooke: In a sense. Not as extreme.
Hope: Who?
Brooke: Me.
Liam: You?
Brooke: The reason I drank that night was because of sheila.
Ridge: Brooke’s been going through hell. She’s been beating herself up, wondering why she drank. Why she fell off the wagon. Thought she was weak, but she wasn’t weak. She was… being manipulated by this– this woman for revenge.
Taylor: Sheila’s incapable of change. I can’t believe I didn’t see it.
Steffy: Mom, y– you can’t blame yourself.
Taylor: It’s not– it’s not blame, it’s regret. I wanted to believe so badly that sheila was going to change. That finn and hayes would be a catalyst for her to be a better person. After all the pain and– and– and heartache she’s caused so many people. Maybe she was ready, but I was so wrong. What she did to you and finn is awful. And to brooke. I feel for her.
Steffy: So do I. We all feel terrible about brooke. But please dad, don’t tell me things have changed between you and brooke and… you and mom. I assumed dust always stayed put.
Quinn: Well, I’m sure steffy is relieved that sheila is behind bars. And ridge and taylor.
Eric: Not to mention, brooke.
Quinn: Brooke? Well, I know, she has a history with sheila as well, but–
Eric: Brooke has been in sheila’s crosshairs too. It goes back to the night that ridge wasn’t there and brooke fell off the wagon and she turned to deacon. That was all sheila’s doing.
Quinn: What? How?
Eric: I’m not sure. I don’t know all the details but, um, ridge tells me that sheila’s responsible for brooke drinking again. And then, she just sat back and watched brooke’s life fall apart completely with a smile on her face, no doubt.
Hope: So, all of these months that you’ve been blaming yourself and trying to figure out why you drank, sheila was behind all of it?
Liam: That woman is… she’s evil. There’s no other way to put it.
Brooke: Well apparently, she was trying to get back at me because I vowed to keep her away from steffy and from all of us and she knew that ridge and I would team up against her.
Liam: So, like what? She just targeted you in hopes of tearing you and ridge apart? What was the plan?
Brooke: I don’t know. Honestly, I don’t know what was going on in her sick mind, but whatever it was, it certainly worked because my life and my marriage imploded.
Hope: Oh, god. I hate that woman. I hate her. She has been torturing people for years and getting away with it. I mean– I mean, she jeopardizes your sobriety. She shoots steffy. She murders her own son. I mean, if there’s any justice in this world, they will lock her up for good.
Brooke: I feel like she’ll be put away for good this time, honey.
Hope: Well, I mean, mom, think about it. She attacked you too. And I hope ridge realizes that. I mean, does he?
Brooke. Yes. Yes. He was very caring and very supportive.
Hope: Well, that’s because he still loves you and he never stopped loving you throughout all of this and soon– okay, now that the truth is out, does that mean that ridge is finally coming home?
Taylor: No, steffy. Just d– don’t start with the pressure.
Steffy: I’m not. I’m just asking a question. All dad has to say is that nothing’s changed. You know, despite everything’s that going on, the closeness that you two have… I mean, it’s pretty obvious.
[ Ridge sighing ]
Ridge: Whatever this is, it’s not… it’s not going away. We– we’re your parents. We’re family.
Steffy: It’s not just– no. It’s not us. I’m not talking about us as a family. I’m talking about the two of you. The love and connection you guys have, especially since you’ve stayed with me. It’s like you guys are starting to rediscover each other and it’s– it’s really nice to see.
Taylor: Well, honey, I mean, it’s been amazing.
Steffy: Yeah, it has. And you deserve it. Especially now in your lives. Like yeah, you’ve had some ups and downs, but honestly, I feel as though you two are the happiest when you’re sharing your lives together. I think you know that too. I just want to hear you say it. I want to hear that this time with mom isn’t just gonna be suddenly erased because of what sheila did to brooke. Ever leave your clothes in the dryer
Eric: I still have a lot of questions, but I… I didn’t want to press ridge on them. He’s exhausted.
Quinn: Oh, I’m sure. Well, at least it’s over and sheila will never be a problem again.
Eric: Yeah. Ridge asked if he could stay here for a while. I said yes.
Quinn: Oh, okay. Well… does that mean that…
Eric: I’m not sure what it means. I do know that he has a lot of thinking to do.
Quinn: Ah. Where brooke and taylor are concerned.
Eric: Yeah. And he and taylor have reconnected in a– in a wonderful, familiar way and I’m very happy for that. I’m delighted for that. But I… I’m convinced that he and brooke belong together.
Quinn: Well, I guess the real question is if sheila is responsible for getting brooke to drink again, then… what’s going to happen between ridge and brooke now?
Hope: So, what did ridge say? Is he coming back?
Brooke: Well, he said a lot of things. Said a lot of beautiful, caring things.
Hope: Okay, so is this your way of telling us that you two are officially back together?
Liam: We may be getting ahead of ourselves here.
Brooke: For the record, ridge and I do love each other very much and that is never going to change. But, he’s not coming back to me.
Hope: Mom, I’m– I’m sorry.
Brooke: No, I– I was disappointed myself, but the good thing is he’s moving out of steffy’s and he’s going to be living at eric’S. He just needs time to think. So, I have faith. I have faith that we will end up together and that he will choose a life with me and not a life with taylor.
Steffy: What sheila did to not only finn and me, but to brooke, it’s– it’s awful. I’m not trying to dispute that. But she was the one who turned to deacon. She kissed him. Deacon stayed in your bed. Yeah, sheila got alcohol into brooke’s system, but she chose to betray you.
Taylor: Honey, your father already knows that. He doesn’t need to be reminded.
Ridge: It’s okay. It’s okay. I get it. I know what you’re getting at. You want some answers and I know you want to. But, it’s– look– it’s been– it’s been great being here with you guys, with the– these amazing grandkids, but I just need some space. So, I talked to dad, and I’m going to live with him for a while.
Steffy: What? No, dad. You’ve been so happy here with mom.
Taylor: I’ve been happy with him here too, but honey, I agree with your dad. I think it’s really smart for him to take this time and have some space, especially after everything that’s happened. There’s– there’s so much. Losing finn, almost losing you. And now your dad needs to process what happened to brooke. She suffered as well.
Steffy: Again, I’m– I’m sorry about that, but–
Taylor: Honey, there’s nothing to be sorry about. [ Taylor sighing ] Whatever happens… the time that we have spent together has been… god, it’s been a beautiful reminder of who we are together. And I like us… a lot. You’re my best friend. And you know I love you. And I’ll always love you. No matter what.
Ridge: Come here. Come on.
Brooke: I am not going to let myself believe anything else. I’m confident that it’s only a matter of time before i’m back in ridge’s arms.
